OTS Child Passenger Safety Assistant Training
This class will provide basic education on child passenger safety and child safety seat installation, crash dynamics and much more! This 12-hour course includes 8 hours of classroom instruction the first day, followed by a second day that includes 4 hours of installation at a car seat checkpoint (dates and locations above).
Class Dates and Times: No classes currently scheduled. If interested, call Vickie at 858-5700 ext. 6226 to be placed on an interest list.
Cost: $30, includes lunch and course materials. Cost may be reduced or waived for some groups or in exchange for volunteer participation.
NHTSA Child Passenger Safety Technician Training
This is a comprehensive, nationally standardized 36-hour training course in Child Passenger Safety. Topics include: the need for child passenger safety programs, relevant federal legislation and safety standards, crash dynamics, vehicle occupant protection systems, selection and use of child restraint systems, correct installation of child restraints, misuse and compatibility issues and more. The course includes 32 hours of classroom instruction, followed by 4 hours of installation at a car seat checkpoint.
Class Dates and Times:
Evening course: Course ID NV20120222262: July 18-September 19; Wednesday evenings 6 to 9 pm and Saturday, September 22 checkpoint. Checkpoint details will be provded during the class.

Note: The current 2009 LATCH manual will be available for purchase during the class for an additional $15. The 2011 LATCH manual will be available for purchase for $30.
Technician Renewal Course
This fast-paced, 8-hour course is designed for Technicians and Instructors whose certification has expired. The course is available for all expired technicians, regardless of how long their certification has been expired. A student who does not pass the renewal course will need to take the full Certification Course.

Technician Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
To assist our Certified Technicians in maintaining their certification, Point of Impact will make every effort to host periodic in-person sessions and updates that can be used to fulfill the CEU requirement for re-Certification.
Class Dates and Times: June 2 or July 7, 2012, 9 am to 3 pm.
