May 10, 2005 – The Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority (REMSA) communication specialist, Marcy Kearns and fleet manager, Ted Britton, were recently honored with the 2005 Star of Life Award in Washington D.C. by the American Ambulance Association. Star of Life Awards are given to individuals who exemplify excellence in ambulance services above and beyond the call of duty. Kearns and Britton received the national honor for their outstanding professional achievements and commitment to service in the Truckee Meadows community. REMSA is a private, not-for-profit emergency medical services system serving northern Nevada. REMSA’s state-of-the-art 9-1-1 dispatch communications center is fully accredited, as are all emergency medical transport services of the company. REMSA provides quality patient care with no taxpayer support or other subsidies. |
