April 30, 2003 - REMSA (Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority) will be hosting their fifth annual Point of Impact Charity Golf Tournament to help raise funds for the Point of Impact child safety seat inspection and replacement program at ArrowCreek Golf Course. Individuals and businesses are encouraged to participate in the golf tournament fundraiser. The cost for single entry in the golf tournament is $125 and a foursome is $500. To register for the tournament contact Mitch Nowicki at 858-5700. For over five years, REMSA has hosted several Point of Impact child safety seat inspections and replacement programs twice a month at different businesses throughout Reno/Sparks. Nationally trained volunteers have inspected child safety seats for correct installation and usage to ensure the safety of all children of families in our community. Car seats and booster seats found to be unsafe or on a national or manufacturers’ recall list are removed, destroyed and replaced at reduced costs and/or free of charge to qualifying families. This program is funded in part by a grant from the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety.
