fifth leading cause of REMSA is encouraging the elderly and those with chronic health problems to participate in the important mobile community health program, as they are more likely to develop serious complications from the diseases if not protected. Homebound individuals considered high-risk due to asthma, diabetes or heart disease will receive flu and pneumonia vaccinations first. Were in the neighborhood already, Guevin said. It makes sense for us to meet the needs of the homebound in this way for both the individual and through public service. In-home flu and pneumonia shots are available through REMSAs ambulatory homebound program while supplies last. Flu shots are $20 and pneumonia shots are $25. Call the REMSA Flu Hotline at 775-858-5741 for more information or to schedule an appointment. |
