February 18, 2002 - A long time paramedic and former Education Director Don Vonarx was recently promoted to the position of Director of Advanced Life Support Operations. The five-year veteran of REMSA (Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority) now oversees all aspects of the companys emergency medical operations. Vonarx has been involved with emergency medical service in the northern Nevada area since 1984. He previously served as a volunteer firefighter/EMT in Lovelock. In the last 18 years, he has progressed from volunteer status to Director of Operations for Washoe Countys only emergency medical transportation service. REMSA is a private, non-profit organization providing the region with advanced life support paramedic ambulance services, the Care Flight emergency medical helicopter program and accredited emergency medical dispatch services. REMSA and Care Flight provide guaranteed response times and high quality patient care with no taxpayer support or other subsidies. |
