January 23, 2002 - A two-day emergency response blood drive sponsored by REMSA (Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority) and the Reno Fire Department. All employees of local public service agencies have been asked to participate and give blood at one of their locations. The Blood Drive will be held Thursday, January 24 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at REMSAs Headquarters, 450 Edison Way in Reno and on Friday, January 25 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Reno Fire Station #3, 580 West Moana Lane in Reno. The United Blood Services blood supply was down over 30% during the holiday season and blood is greatly needed. REMSA is a private, non-profit organization providing the region with advanced life support paramedic ambulance services, the Care Flight emergency medical helicopter program and accredited emergency medical dispatch services. REMSA and Care Flight provide guaranteed response times and high quality patient care with no taxpayer support or other subsidies. |
