OTS Child Passenger Safety Assistant Training

This class will provide basic education on child passenger safety and child safety seat installation, crash dynamics and much more! This 12-hour course includes 8 hours of classroom instruction the first day, followed by a second day that includes 4 hours of installation at a car seat checkpoint (dates and locations above).

Class Dates and Times: Friday, September 24, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and September 25 Checkpoint.
Friday, November 12, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and November 13 Checkpoint

NHTSA Child Passenger Safety Technician Training

This is a comprehensive, nationally standardized 36-hour training course in Child Passenger Safety.  Topics include: the need for child passenger safety programs, relevant federal legislation and safety standards, crash dynamics, vehicle occupant protection systems, selection and use of child restraint systems, correct installation of child restraints, misuse and compatibility issues and more.  The course includes 32 hours of classroom instruction, followed by 4 hours of installation at a car seat checkpoint.

Technician Renewal Course

This fast-paced, 8-hour course is designed for Technicians and Instructors whose certification has expired. The course is available for all expired technicians, regardless of how long their certification has been expired. A student who does not pass the renewal course will need to take the full Certification Course.

Techncian Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

To assist our Certified Technicians in maintaining their certification, Point of Impact will make every effort to host periodic in-person sessions and updates that can be used to fulfill the CEU requirement for re-Certification.
